Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 June 2026.

In short: NurseryNote is a school-management tool for small Indian preschools. These terms cover what the service is, what you agree to when using it, the different roles in the app, and how to leave if you choose to. By using NurseryNote you accept these terms.

1. About NurseryNote

NurseryNote is a school-management platform for small preschools in India. We help schools manage fees, homework, attendance, leave applications, and announcements, and help parents stay close to their child’s school day.

The service is operated by Jaskanwarpal Singh (sole proprietor, “NurseryNote”, “we”, “us”). The service consists of a web admin panel (for principals and teachers) and a mobile app (for parents, teachers, and principals).

2. Your Account

Parents sign in on mobile with a Google account — keep it secure; we cannot recover access if your Google account is compromised. Web-admin users (principals, teachers) sign in with an email and password issued by their school or NurseryNote; keep your password confidential.

You must provide accurate information. Giving false information (wrong name, fake phone, etc.) may result in your account being removed by the school.

3. What you agree to

When using NurseryNote you agree:

  • To provide accurate and up-to-date information about yourself and your child.
  • Not to use the service to abuse, harass, or threaten anyone — principal, teacher, parent, or child.
  • Not to upload unlawful, harmful, or offensive content.
  • Not to attempt to gain access to another school’s, parent’s, or child’s data.
  • Not to reverse-engineer, probe, or attack the service or its infrastructure.
  • To comply with applicable Indian law, including education-sector regulations and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA).

4. Roles in the app

NurseryNote has four role types:

  • Admin — the NurseryNote platform owner. Has cross-school access for platform operation and support.
  • Principal — manages their own school: adds students, teachers, classes, fees, and sends announcements. Cannot see other schools’ data.
  • Teacher — manages their assigned classes: posts homework, reviews leave applications. Cannot see other classes or other schools.
  • Parent / Guardian — sees only their own child’s or linked child’s records on the mobile app. Cannot access the web admin panel.

Your role is assigned by the school during enrolment. Parents are added as guardians of their children by the school’s principal.

5. Our responsibilities

We will use commercially reasonable effort to keep NurseryNote running, secure, and free of critical bugs. We regularly release updates and fixes.

The service is provided “as-is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and scheduled maintenance may temporarily suspend the service.

6. Termination

You can leave at any time

You can deactivate your account any time via “Delete My Account” in the mobile Settings, or by emailing hello@nurserynote.com.

Deactivation revokes your login and makes your account inaccessible. See the Privacy Policy for details on what happens to your records after deactivation (in short: records are retained for school audit purposes; personal identifiers are anonymized on request and automatically 30 days after deletion).

Schools can remove you

Your school’s principal can remove your access at any time — for example, when a student leaves the school, or in case of misuse.

We can suspend the service

We can suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms, particularly around abuse, unauthorised access, or unlawful content.

7. Limitation of liability

NurseryNote is provided as a service to help schools and parents communicate. We are not responsible for:

  • Decisions your school makes based on data in the app (fee amounts, leave approvals, homework content, etc. — these are your school’s decisions, not ours).
  • Indirect or consequential damages from use of the service.
  • Data loss caused by your own actions (e.g. losing access to your Google account).
  • Downtime or service interruption.

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. For users who have not paid anything (most parents), liability is limited to INR 1,000.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Indian law — including liability for our own gross negligence, fraud, or breach of our obligations under the DPDPA.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mohali, Punjab, India.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification and email, and changes take effect 14 days after notification. Continued use of NurseryNote after that means you accept the updated terms.
